In repsonse to Kathy Lockhart
Standing Ovation ~Aaron Style~
Lonely women sit and waitAs time controls their random fate
By the window, the world a stage
The skies look on at sporatic rage
The fear within is the only rose
Received at my entrancing shows
The tears I cry impale my lie
The curtains close my last good-bye
Many nights I've wondered what to do
To subside the pain that tries to ensue
My audience leaves my world a maze
My stage a wreck; the scene ablaze
It takes time to try and erase
The scars ingrained across my face
My masks could hide my shallow pain
Yet that facades so hard to maintain
Lonely women sit and wait
As curtains close this gate
I'll take my rose and fade from view
Your rose was plenty; if you only knew
