A short poem about modern civilisation
I look down
and see the torrid smoke and fire
The war on nature
fought without
tooth and nail
but with
petrol, and steel, and superior brains
We take what we want
and we burn what is left
pillage the earth
without joy or regret
walk on these shores
without touching the ground
wander this earth
without looking up at the sky

Without Looking Up
From atop the mountainI look down
and see the torrid smoke and fire
The war on nature
fought without
tooth and nail
but with
petrol, and steel, and superior brains
We take what we want
and we burn what is left
pillage the earth
without joy or regret
walk on these shores
without touching the ground
wander this earth
without looking up at the sky
