As you turn off the 'main road' at Glenamoy in Erris (Co. Mayo) and head towards Carrowteige, Porturlin and Portacloy, before the road divides again, you must cross Annie Brady's Bridge.
annie brady
at sunrise,let us
meet on
annie brady
bridge
and
watch
a swirling,
teeming
bog
brown
tide,
the current
and
the flow
in the morning
let’s
walk
on inver strand
and trace
paths
that
others
made
new ways
for
futures
shared
as one
this evening
let us lie
on heather
beds
with
cotton sheets
below
Slieve Fiach's
purpling brow
to smile
and make
to go
to
Brady's bar
to listen,
to talk,
to sing
away
the darknesses
outside
within
to crackle
with the turf
to sparkle
in the
night.
