This one i wrote the day after my father died in 2006

Passing by

See the stream flow under the bridge
See the leaf blown by the wind
See a cloud float across the sky
This is life passing by

You walk slowly down the street
You look at faces of people you meet
Our wrinkles and lines show our age
Like reading a book we turn a page

I find some paper and pick up my pen
If I get annoyed I'll count to ten
I write a song to pass the time
To light the world and free my mind

Look at the world from a different view
Look at us all, me and you
Fish can swim and birds can fly
This is life passing by.
