Lake of Rememberance
Deep in the valley of memories
Over the old wooden fence
Lay waters of past thoughts
The lake of Remembrance
As one would stare into the water
Their past would start to glow
With faith in the waters powers
Vivid pictures would begin to show
This lake was one of elegance
The hills to set the scene
Wheat filled pastures standing still
The grass a vibrant green
Legends say the water could heal
The blind, deaf, and weak
Restore strength to those who couldn’t walk
And voice to those who couldn’t speak
One day a lonely stranger found this lake
And to his very surprise
One glance at this very lake
Was enough to open his eyes
Blind to his mind was a past filled with joy
Clouded with doubt and abuse
With all the pain and hurt felt in the present
Was this lake to any use
This lake had finally opened the eyes
Of a man who thought all was lost
With nothing else to lose or gain
This visit was worth the cost
Plans to out this special lake
Were tossed inside his head
Yet fates connection to this day
Had left this idea dead
Deep in the valley of memories
Over the old wooden fence
Laid waters of past thoughts
The lake of Remembrance
