My friday hasnt gone too well....

Being Raised to Fail

Nothing in this world comes closer

Sinks deeper

Hurts more than failure

To climb the hill to have

The foundation crumble

To ride the tides of opportunity

And hit hurricane turbulence

To risk all of your money

And to walk home broken

It’s like being raised to fail

When does pain become instinct?

When does opportunity become invisible?

When does reality finally become surreal?

At the point when you finally hit the ground

It’s like being raised to fail

Our hearts beat with the intensity

Our mind thinks with the same precision

Our souls wonder with the same curiosity

It only takes one time to lose

One time to see greatness fall

It’s like being raised to fail

For I have failed again

well you certainly didn't fail with this one! your description of failure as a feeling is great. i'd personally have loved a little more focus on what the distinction between failure and success is - but it's you poem! :)

I don't believe you failed, but you have learned and with that, you try again only to succeed, over and over again.
