raiment

as the
ferry
sways
on the
autumn
swell
we walk
the deck
in silent
awe
beneath
the silver
raiment
a clear
and
milky
way
set
light
by Perseids
of
cold
and
streaking
fire

there is
a chill
within
the air
the dank
dark
chill
of dawning
but as
the sky
turns
black
to
blue
I see
your
eyes
catch
light anew
as
Perseids
lit
the raiment

Zoya Zaidi
As I read your poems dear,
A calm descends on my soul,
Yet, I am oddly disturbed,
As the meanings start to descend
Slowly into my soul
Slowly, imperceptibly...

Beauty, thy name is Peter!

((hugs my dear finest of fine poets...)))
Love, Zoya

This is beautiful for both imagery and rhythm.

Its great to feel yourself getting caught up in the flow of this yet it is unhurried and hangs you on each word a delight to read and enjoy Peter.

i love the way you make me pay attention to each word, and the way each word becomes alive in your writings...there is a certain fluidity in your poems that keeps me going all the way to the end of them...beautiful!
