A break from the profiles, something for myself
That seemed surreal at first glance
You’d chase it far and wide
Forever if given the chance
No matter what the outcome was
You knew deep in your heart
This journey was a right one
For fate had taken part
Time changed the field you walked on
This dream to fade away
The pain you felt was tragic
There were no words to say
You still remained vigilant
And chased what thought as gone
You lost your friends and family
But your faith remained at dawn
With desertion at your feet
And ignorance in your eyes
The person you thought you knew
Was bathed in deep disguise
With fading hope hanging on
You took one final dive
This move spelled determination
Left you spent; enforced your drive
The dream that kept you back
Came true and all the ones who ran
Came crawling back with open hearts
And mouths just full of sand
You gave them a fist of denial
For they didn’t know the cost
Of a friend whose dreams seemed weary
And the trust that had been lost
The ones who held high hopes
Stayed ready by your side
They held true understanding
And would always be your guide
Have you ever had a dream
That seemed surreal at first glance
I did and found out promise
Is but a game of luck and chance

Pieces of a Dream
Have you ever had a dreamThat seemed surreal at first glance
You’d chase it far and wide
Forever if given the chance
