One of the oldest parks in Prague, Vojanovy sady, was founded around the year of 1300. In the 17th century it was the garden of the Convent of Barefoot Carmelites.
the peacock
enclosedenwalled
entroned
enthralled
the peacock
struts
his colours
blue to green
purple black
as on the
ground
crushed fruit
give lie
to silent pasts
in this old
carmelite garden
an old man
bent in
shy despair
lies in
the gentle
evening air
as children
play
and silence
falls
as rusty gates
obeying time
once more
enwall
and close
and throne
and thrall
the peacock's
meagre
splendour
