Life In The Fast Lane
The roll of drums filled the air;In the crowded street,driven by desire,
The caravan carried the euphoric youth
On the fast lane that veiled the tested truth;
Not a single moment to stop,nor to stare,
To vex the volatile velocity they seldom dare;
Wisdom bargained in terms of penny,
The dreams portrayed seem sweeter than honey;
Honesty is engulfed in the shadows of greed,
Love's long lost and devoid of slightest heed;
The passersby at the end of the route,
Drenched in sweat and embellished with soot,
Recollect the days that were serene and simple ,
Lost were those in this torrid tussle;
Soon this chap would follow their suite,
Covered with soot from head to foot;
The dreams would soon rust and rest in peace,
And his tired soul would crumble like fallen leaves.
