A beautiful Medieval Church dwarfed by the City but infinitely more beautiful.
redolent with spirit
between
the Great Fire
and
the Blitz
only you stand
as I sit
in the side pews
light
two candles
for us
and then
by the sanctuary wall
beneath a small Icon
of Our Lady
I dream
in prayer
of those I love
those unloved
those unlived
in the Babylon
outside
'twixt Barbican
and
Threadneedle Street.
