The thought comes from a film, You got Mail. To the corporate exec business was impersonal. To the small shop owner it was her life. I know how she felt.

It's Personal

No love, no care, no loyalty
Its not personal, Its just business brutality
Cut, slash, reduce, downsize, outsource
Human commodities, used and displaced
Make the stockholders happy, personal care erased

Transition the norm, push til you break
Your disposable easy to replace
No knowledge, no desire, no life
The people are the business have you lost sight?

Its service with a caraff of fear
Will no one shed a tear?
The numbers can't value pride
What will turn the tide?

As time passes short term wonders unmasked
The time has come to take all to task
Its not just about business
The human wreckage tells the rest

We have learned well
Our children have been given the hard sell
Make it while you can
There can be no other plan

Move on when the price is right
Who cares about the business plight?
After all, its all about me
Isn't that the corporate plea?
