Some epigram – for Lizzy's fun/silly challenge
As we must die anyway,
why not make something on the way
like love, for instance,
since it anyway won't pay
to save your pay along the way
since death inevitably holds his sway.
Love until you die,
that is the best thing you can do
until you die and lie
down there close by
in that old grave
for your old bones to dry
when your old love has long gone by.
Keep at it, friend,
that's the only valid trend
that causes all eternity to bend
for you in homage for your blend
of morbid sorts of love you send
forever unto journey's end.
