Be careful what you wish for

Midas

King Midas, thinking on the emptiness of days,
sighed, "What is life, without wealth?"

The Gods, in their wisdom,
Gave him that wondrous gift:

Then Midas, tiring of his Golden Touch,
Cried: "What is wealth, without life!"
