ants

it must be getting warmer

today

the first of many

too many to count

actually

crossed my

far from spotless

kitchen floor

should I stand on him

flatten him

in his tracks

as I did as a kid

adding a

tiny spot

to my Mum's

very spotless floor

or should I

be grown up

mature

adult

green aware

leaving him

to do his job

like you or me

back and forth

forth and back

from whence he came

soon to return

another tiny spot

on a far from

spotless earth

goodness me

would you believe it

the cat

just licked him up

then looked at me

for more

Thank goodness for my to bengal cats...they prevent me
from being guilt ridden about killing ants...and I notice that
they don't feel any guilt at all

What a nice and welcome poem. Amid all the sturm und drang there is this bit of delight, thank you! All life's dilemas should be so quickly and neatly resolved.

What pleasure to come onto this site and see a poem from you! This brought all tumbling childhood memories into my head :-) I live in a old old granite house where ants are a summery problem every year

Thank you

How delightful!
Yes the sugar ants suddenly appear in spring
but our six cats ignore them as unworthy of their aloof attention.
Thanks
