remembering

be I
sitting here alone
writing
as the winter sun
blinds then hides
and blinds again
the bright low
merciless light

be I sitting here
as winds
that blow the hands
and brittle fingers be
as I squint
in time
to leafless trees
outside my window
bow and wave to me
ironically

be I sitting here
dreaming of kinder days
when swifts and swallows
swish slice
the azure sky
and I still
sitting be
look out upon
the glistening pasture
regal trees and
heathered mountains

remembering
just remembering
the still slow
slanting sun
the day
when we were
one

I wasn't sure where you were going but I was enjoying the images and the words, but the end turned it into a beautiful poem. So gentle and tender. Love it.

Elle The PoetBay support member heart!
How gentle you write of those kinder days, I am transported watching the heather, the swifts and dreaming of azure skies

Long time no see, a lovely piece, I could do with some "kinder days."
