Squandered Love
Take a million granules of sandGrasp it tight in one hand
Soon you find you loose the grip
The grains eventually start to slip
The dust trail shows the way
As the wind blows it away
Not long before you search for the trace
Of the smile that once embellished your face
You forced it out your hand from the start
Now let your fingers slowly part
As the last granules fall to the floor
Simultaneously it closes and opens another door
Don't lose your affection like you did the sand
Rather embrace it by adding your other hand
For love brings endless joy and pleasure
So cherish it like a new-found treasure
