Goodbye Blue Dot

Oh Blue Dot, why are you sad?
My dear Blue Dot you should be glad
You've lived so long, you've seen so much
Think of those to whom you clutch

We are so small compared to you
And you are small compared to all
So fleeting and so fast our lives
Yet still we look for other hives

It's been a joy to share with you
All this life we have been through
To stare at stars so far away
And wish for all those better days

See now you've gone and turned to dust
And leave you here we simply must
The sun has set upon your shores
The flames are beating down the doors

And on our ships we must away,
take sail!
But that, Blue Dot, is another tale...

So long Blue Dot we won't forget
Please don't cry, don't be upset
Farewell, Adieu, Adios, Goodbye!
It's time for us to flee and fly
