At The Worst of Moments

It's at the worst of moments I look inside
and realise I'm still alive
Though shadows creep into my mind
tempting desires
I don't want to find

Drown my sorrows all night long
Sailing oceans to this song
I'm lost at sea, can't carry on
Yet tides they force me
to play along

It's at the worst of moments I look inside
and realise I'm still alive
Though shadows creep into my mind
Tempting desires
I don't want to find

I've grown a world apart
from this life
I walk the streets alone
through the night
My dreams are empty
My past alight
My future, my present
They don't seem bright

It's at the worst of moments I look inside
and realise I'm still alive
Though shadows creep into my mind
Tempting desires
I don't want to find

I often search for words to express what you have done so very well here. Could not do it better. Life can be like a very long walk along a drab and lonely shore line that stretches towards the horizon. On occasions, and if chance is on our side, we stumble across something pleasing to our soul. Little moments but still worth collecting.

Wow, the horror of living is hard and long, and the end seems so livid and short and long. Beautiful poem.
