What was it all for?
What was it all for?So much was lost and forgotten
So many died, wept and woed
Yet here we are remembering
and our memories can't recall
what was it all for
it all seemed so important
it all felt worth the loss
but now it isn't relevant
and what is relevant now will not matter later
and we will forget
our sons will forget
our daughters will forget
and our brethren, our friends
if they still live
they will forget
they didn't even know what it was for to begin with
they only remember the scents of death
the scars of the past
We will remember though
right here, and now, we will remember
and we will die
we will weep
and woe betide us for these moments of madness
