Disillusioned Poets
Tempestuous whiners I spit at thee!Disillusioned in your revelry
Scrawl and scratch I dare, I dare
Say that angst is your despair!
If not these words you can't commit
then at your canvas gloomily sit
and scream and rage or if inclined
sigh and moan your alibi
If new beginnings the poet seeks
look not into the past to peek
don't criticize your fellow man
instead devise foundations, plans!
Blueprints of your soul to share
those moments that you just can't bear
alone so you must call the gift
call it fast, call it swift!
Conjure up your symphony
avoid a tedious litany
You've magic at your fingertips
A forge, an anvil at your lips
Your pen and paper, hammer and tongs
Every second a lyric, a song
And all around is inspiration
there's no need for complication
Yet, if my friend, you can't commit
then at your canvas gloomily sit
and scream and rage or if inclined
sigh and moan your alibi
